Caring for your Luxe Locs Extensions

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR LUXE LOCS

​Luxe Locs is a product that was created with quality and longevity in mind. With that said, please be sure to take proper care of your Locs to ensure that each and every install will look as amazing as the first.

​It is very important for you to understand what you have purchased. Luxe Locs Indian and Cambodian Collections are 100% raw and unprocessed. This means that each bundle will vary in texture, degree of curl/wave and color. It will also behave just as our natural hair would so it must be treated regularly in order to maintain a polished look.

Although Luxe Locs extensions can be blown dry, curled, straightened, and dyed as if it were your own hair, there are some important steps to keep in mind.

​We recommend always having your premium Locs installed by a professional stylist to ensure the best results. Follow up with your stylist every week to two weeks for maintenance.

CLEANSE

Always use high quality sulfate free shampoo along with a nourishing and moisturizing conditioner. We suggest Pureology brand Hydrate shampoo and conditioner. Prior to shampooing or wetting your Locs, always brush the hair from ends to roots with a paddle brush to ensure it is absolutely free of tangles. Failing to do so could cause tangling/matting especially in curly textures.

Always shampoo the hair in a downward motion 2/3 times so the hair is free of residue.

Apply a generous amount of conditioner and thoroughly brush through prior to rinsing.

Be sure to thoroughly rinse shampoo and conditioner from the hair.

Sit underneath a hooded dryer to thoroughly dry your Locs.

For curly textures, after cleansing, brush out and allow to air dry undisturbed for the most curl definition. Manipulating the hair during the drying process can cause frizz. When maintaining curly hair, always apply styling or curl defining products to the hair while it is wet/damp. Curly hair will need to be thoroughly brushed through and shampoo'd/conditioned usually about every 3 days to control frizz and maintain a polished look.

PROTECT

Do not use excessive amounts of product on your hair. Always look for alcohol free products to prevent drying.
Be sure to always use salon quality products and tools on your hair.

Brush your hair daily from ends to roots

Protect your Locs from thermal styling by using a heat protectant.

While sleeping, pin curl your hair to maintain iron curls, braid loosely to maintain waves and always sleep in a satin bonnet or directly on a silk/satin pillowcase with all textures.

COLOR

Being that Luxe Locs hair is a raw and unprocessed, it colors well.

We recommend taking your Locs to a professional stylist to perform color services on it. As improper coloring methods could effect the integrity/texture of the hair.
